Asha (Hope) is a volunteer run non-profit that raises funds for the education of underprivileged children in India. The goal is to lift people out of poverty by empowering them through education.

Asha is a zero-overhead organization, which means that every donated dollar reaches education projects in India. Asha has a four star rating (highest possible) from Charity Navigator. This is partly because of the unique overhead policy and the fully volunteer driven, organization structure.

I have been associated with Asha for almost 7 years now as a volunteer. I have been associated with several volunteer organizations, but what I like the most about Asha is that all projects that funds go to are throughly wetted and the most needy projects are funded. Every year they assess, to ensure funds are being used the right way. Anyone is welcome to perform site visit of these projects. As a volunteer, everyone has a voice.

Team Asha trained me to run my first two half marathons. They introduced a healthy lifestyle to my family. This year I’m running a half marathon relay with my husband. Please support my run and help me raise funds for the lesser privileged so that they can have a bright future too. No amount is too small.
