I always wanted to be a runner. But whenever I started running I would get tired soon and I used to give up. What I needed was some inspiration to keep me going. This year when I got connected to “Asha for Education”, through my friends Kiran Negi and Kavita Shinde, it seemed like my dream came true.
In June I could run only 1 mile at a stretch. After practicing with the St Louis Asha group over the summer, now I am ready for my first Half Marathon in October 2017. I want to let you know that the inspiration which kept me running are the underprivileged kids and my desire to help them. I need your support to help them get better education and better life.
Asha (Hope) is a volunteer run non-profit that raises funds for the education of underprivileged children in India. The goal is to lift people out of poverty by empowering them through education.
Asha is a zero-overhead organization, which means that every donated dollar reaches education projects in India. Asha has a four star rating (highest possible) from Charity Navigator. This is partly because of the unique overhead policy and the fully volunteer driven, organization structure.
Please choose Asha as your charity of choice this year, and support the cause as well as support my run. Your contribution is an important motivator for me to go farther and faster! No amount is too small. Thank You.
